Located to 40 Km. of the Puno city, with a diameter of 23 Km². and a maximum height of 4,130 m.s.n.m. Their residents are devoted principaly to the agriculture and they have similar customs that those of the island of Taquile. Debido to the existence of granitic rocks, they have specialized in the cut and carved of the stone, elaborating deposits of food, tables and carved otros . Likewise the textile activity is similar to that of Taquile, as much in the variety as in the design. In the hills Koanos and Llaquistiti exist two témpletes undergroud that were erected in honor to the fertility of the earth, sacred considered places where he/she was practiced and he/she is still practiced ceremonial ritos of adoration to the earth (payments), that are carried out by Yatiris or Pacos (Andean priests). Today it is visited by esoterics since there the cosmic-energy dualism is manifested.
