DESCRIPTION

Among the totora reeds live the Uros, a people traditionally connected with fishing and bird hunting. Totora reeds are used to build their floating islands and homes, where families pass their beliefs and customs from generation to generation. The inhabitants speak Aymara and live within the Lake Titicaca National Reserve; they are also highly skilled in working with reeds.
